Jammu to Srinagar taxi fare

Jammu to Srinagar is a one-way intercity fare rather than a day rate, because the car returns empty. The same fares apply Srinagar to Jammu. Round trips with days in Kashmir in between are priced as our Jammu–Kashmir–Jammu package.

One-way fares include driver, fuel and tolls. AC is strongly recommended on the Jammu side in summer.

The drive

NH44 runs 270 km from Jammu through Udhampur, the Chenani–Nashri tunnel, Ramban, the Banihal (Navyug) tunnel and Qazigund into the valley, then across the flat to Srinagar. With the tunnels the journey is 7 to 9 hours including a meal stop; landslides at Ramban in the monsoon or snow at Banihal in winter can add time, and your driver will tell you the night before if conditions look poor.

Best departure: leave Jammu by 6–7 am. You clear Udhampur before the trucks, reach the Banihal tunnel before any afternoon traffic control, and arrive in Srinagar with daylight to spare. Afternoon departures risk arriving after dark.
