What a full day covers

Srinagar's sights are spread around Dal Lake and the old city, and the order matters because of light, traffic and closing times. The loop our drivers use:

  1. Shankaracharya temple — first, for the view over the lake before the haze (cars park at the base; 240 steps up)
  2. Cheshma Shahi, Pari Mahal and, in late October–November, the chrysanthemum garden; in April, the tulip garden
  3. Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh — the Mughal gardens on the east shore
  4. Hazratbal shrine and the chinar groves of Naseem Bagh on the north shore
  5. Old city — Jamia Masjid, Khanqah-e-Moula, the spice and copper markets around Zaina Kadal
  6. Shikara on Dal Lake at the end of the day — we drop you at the ghat and wait
Houseboat guests: we pick you up at the ghat nearest your houseboat; just tell us its name. Budshah Chowk and Nehru Park ghats are the usual points.

Are entry tickets included?

No. Garden entry tickets, shikara and the temple are paid directly and are small amounts.
